These handmade earrings are embroidered in traditional Palestinian Tatreez by women artisans in Palestine using original DMC cotton embroidery threads. The design is inspired by the chest panels of traditional Jaffa thobes, where dense geometric embroidery forms the visual centerpiece of the dress.
Palestinian artist Ghenva Alkabra translated this historic textile composition into a wearable Tatreez design, preserving the structure and rhythm of traditional embroidery while adapting it into contemporary jewelry.
The black textile base and red cross-stitch pattern reflect classic color combinations widely associated with Palestinian dress embroidery. Each pair is carefully stitched by hand and finished with a red thread tassel, bringing movement and balance to the embroidered panel.
Every pair is slightly unique due to the handmade process. Beyond jewelry, these earrings carry the visual language of Palestinian dress heritage in a small textile form.
